Our team is funded wholly by donations and charitable grants - we don’t get public funding - we are working for change and to make it happen across the country.

In the grip of our housing crisis, every empty home represents a wasted opportunity to improve a family’s life now and to invest in their future - the alternative is waste. Wasted homes lying empty, families left in limbo, kids educational chances diminished, health and wellbeing damaged.

That is why telling stories of success and creating case studies which evaluate positive approaches matters. But so does work on the ground and all of this costs money.

If 300,000 long-term empty homes were brought back to life it would mean a huge increase in housing stock. There would be more affordable housing for families who need it most. It would mean fewer children living in temporary accommodation, far fewer families living in fear that they may be moved at a moment’s notice. Fewer people forced to make the streets their home.

This is why we believe it’s time for Action on Empty Homes. We are the only organisation in the country dedicated to creating real change, fighting to stop the waste of empty homes, campaigning to give families the security they deserve.
