Action on Empty Homes was pleased to see its latest report Community Action on Empty Homes cited in a front page story in the York Press highlighting 'a city in housing crisis' which has experienced soaring empty homes numbers in recent years. The York article puts housing firmly on top of the local agenda as a new administration takes shape at York City Council following May 2019 local elections.

This sees the Green Party taking over the housing post at cabinet level. Our Report was actually launched in York, on May 2nd at a well-attended event and seminar with speakers from Action on Empty Homes, from community-led empty homes projects featured in the report; and from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.
